As we wrap up 2023, it’s been another great year at St Peters Football Club.

The 2023 season saw player numbers remain consistent and for those age groups in which our numbers were lower, we continued our partnerships with Bentleigh and Murrumbeena.

For the first time the club gave every player and training top, designed by a local Indigenous Artist.  The tops were showcased at a special Friday night double header, which also included a Welcome to Country.  A great night and crowd to cheer on the teams.

Out of our 18 teams , 6 made grand finals and 4 brought home the premiership flag

Congratulations to:
U18 Girls Reeves
U13 (mixed) Crawford
U12 (mixed) Ascott
U11 (mixed) Mann

As always, at the end of the season the senior team celebrates the end of their junior football journey at Presentation Night.  Along with their coaches, parents and the committee the players enjoyed a meal at the Sandbelt Hotel to celebrate.  Apart from the usual season awards, one player from the senior cohort is awarded the Beveridge Award for outstanding sportsmanship, commitment and service to the club.

This years winner was Mackenzie Griffin – well done!

The senior girls team also celebrated their season – premiership winning season at that!  This was a merge side with Bentleigh and both clubs celebrated together to finish off the season.  The Wardlaw Family Award is presented to a senior female player for her outstanding service, sportsmanship and commitment to the club.  This years winner was Sophie James.  Well done!

For the committee, the Eddie Griffin Award went to Sarah Logan & Narelle Warren – both deserving for their commitment to the club and going over and above in their roles on the committee.

Finally, this year we welcomed 3 more names to our life member list.  Congratulations to Caroline Jones, Julie Baxter & Cath Beveridge Knights.

Bring on season 2024!  Go Petes!
